This study aimed to assess the perception of visitors to Gembira Loka Zoo as a tourism attraction. The number of respondents were selected in this study were from the Gembira Loka Zoo visitors over the age of 17 were 300 respondents. Data collection was conducted by interview techniques and the methods of distribution of a questionnaire based on the questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was used descriptive statistical analysis using qualitative data that has been converted into quantitative data using a Linkert scale. The results showed that the perception of the visitors by various ages, various levels of education, a variety of jobs, different regions of origin originating from inside or outside the city even from abroad into higher perception (good). High perception be evidence that the Gembira Loka managed to take advantage of livestock and wild animals as a means of entertainment and improve the image of the Special Region of Yogyakarta as a city of student and tourist.
